My 3yr old daughter thinks signing is more of a game but she uses it quite a bit. My son now age 2 was not picking up on speech the way I wanted him to, so I started signing with him and most of the words he uses now are the words I signed with him. His speech is developmentally behind, but may have been more so without the signing. He knows it gets him what he wants! My baby, I have been signing with for about 2 months and even though he is young and really likes to vocalize (try to sing and copy sounds) he stated signing "milk" (a sign I use for breastfeeding/nursing) about 2 weeks ago, despite my inconsistencies of not using it Every time, but sometimes. Now that he is starting solids I'll teach him about "more” and "eat" one at a time.
